How to Setup Barcodes:

There are three ways to setup barcodes, the first two I’ll explain are if you have a machine that weights and prints UPC labels. Access the barcode configuration manager by going to Setting > Configuration > Barcode Configuration. (See picture below)

Example 1: If the first digit is a 2 and the next five are product code and the last five are weights. 2|12345|00350 – this way it’s going to put the weight (3.5 lbs) in the bar code.

Example 2: If the first digit is a 2 and the next five are product code and the last five are prices. 2|12345|00613 – this way it’s going to put the price ($6.13) in the barcode.

If you don’t have a machine that weighs and prints UPC labels setup your barcodes this way.
Example 3: If the first digit is an 8 and the next five are manufacturer and the last five are product codes. 8|67890|123456 – this way when you scan the item you will key in the weight.
