Q - How does my web-site work with MeatBooks Professional Software?
A -
MeatBooksProfessional© is designed specifically to interface with the internet and your website. This allows you to market any item in your inventory on your website, regardless of whether we design and create your website, or someone else does. We offer the design and creation of your own personal website, and at least until the end of 2006, we will offer this service free to users of MeatBooksProfessional©. A website maintenance fee of $10/month is charged for websites that we design.

Q - What makes MeatBooks Professional the most desired software solution for my meat processing needs?
A -
We are a windows based system that is not only easy to learn and easy to use, but is an extremely sophisticated and powerful tool incorporating all of the features that you need for your daily operations and business needs.

Q - What features does MeatBooks Professional include?
A -
MeatBooks is a dynamic program that allows you to expand your operations, and we will continue to upgrade and add program capabilities and functions at no additional charge for our clients as those needs are expressed and we develop them. MeatBooks began as a basic customer database with cutting instructions and an order tracking program. With the much appreciated help and input of our first customers, we expanded the functions to include recipes, recipe cost analysis, catering, scheduling, labeling, farmer and animal ID tracking, invoicing, on-line cutting instructions and slaughter scheduling, customer coding, website hosting with e-commerce capability, and reports of all kinds. We have some exciting research going on, with some new capabilities already in development. All of these will be provided as they finish testing at no additional cost.

Q - What new features have been added or will be added soon?
A -
The most exciting new feature added to MeatBooks is having a full “Traceability” capability for all products, including ingredients in recipes, animal identification, and selling/shipping to customers for either retail or wholesale.  This includes the ability to do a Recall on products if there is a food safety incident, which is designed to help processors maintain trace-back or trace-forward required under the Bioterrorism Act.

Q - What does the Bioterrorism Act require, and how does MeatBooks© meet those requirements?
A -
The Federal Bioterrorism Act requires manufacturers and regulators to keep records so that they can track food from the source to the consumer.  This is intended to make it easier to pinpoint problems when a food safety incident occurs, and make recalls if necessary.  Starting next year, food processors will be required to keep records to show that their products are not manufactured using prohibited animal parts.
